Thoma and Sarah

Here's a video of two dancers valsing in their studio: Thoma and Sarah of Thomatango. It's a fresh perspective on a "performance," because the camera follows them around the dance floor rather than shooting static from a distance.

Normally I don't like too much camera movement and I definitely don't like the camera to crop off the lower bodies, because I like to be able to see the footwork at all times. But in this case I kind of like the focus on the upper bodies because one can see the joy in the dancers' faces that comes from sharing a vals.

Plus, it's a follower's view of the milonga, because (when we have our eyes open) we check out the dancing going on behind us in the line of dance. And what we notice, more often than not, is the look on the lead's face. This guy obviously loves to vals.
